This section of the policy manual describes the action required of eligibility staff to assure CHIP compliance with H.I.P.A.A.
Effective April 14, 2003, all CHIP recipients must be informed in writing of the privacy practices of the Utah Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Integrated Healthcare (DIH).
Eligibility staff are required to furnish all applicants a copy of the NOTICE OF PRIVACY PRACTICES.
If medical assistance recipients have additional questions or concerns regarding their privacy rights, eligibility staff should refer them to the DIH's Privacy Officer at 801-538-9925.
