This section of the policy manual describes the action required of eligibility staff to assure CHIP compliance with H.I.P.A.A.
Effective April 14, 2003, all Medicaid, PCN and CHIP recipients must be informed in writing of the privacy practices of the Utah Department of Health, Division of Health Care Financing.
All CHIP enrollees that were open on April 14, 2003 were mailed a copy of the Utah Department of Health, Division of Health Care Financing Notice Of Privacy Practices through a Department mass mailing.
Eligibility staff is required to furnish all applicants applying after April 14, 2003, with a copy of the NOTICE OF PRIVACY PRACTICES.
