OBSOLETE POLICY CHIP MANUAL |
To qualify for CHIP, a child must be under the age of nineteen.
A child must be under 19 years of age sometime during the application month to enroll in the program
An otherwise eligible child who is turning age 19 in the application month may receive CHIP for the application month, and the four-day grace period if applicable.
When a child who is enrolled in CHIP turns 19 years old, the month in which his nineteenth birthday occurs is the last month of eligibility.
If a child turns 19 in a month that PCN is open for enrollment, look at PCN for the child the month after he turns 19, if the child is not eligible for Medicaid. See section 702-1.
