Effective through December 31, 2009
Individuals eligible to receive CHIP include the following.
A. U.S. Citizens. See section 202-1
B. Qualified aliens. See section 202-2
As an eligibility requirement, ONE adult in the household must certify that all household members who receive benefits are U.S. Citizens or have been granted legal immigration status by the U.S. This may be done by answering the question about citizenship or alien status and then signing the application form. An applicant may also complete an Affidavit of Citizenship form. When adding a new household member, the applicant or responsible adult must certify the new household member’s citizenship or alien status in the same manner.
