OBSOLETE POLICY CHIP MANUAL |
Safeguard all reports of matched data. This includes printouts, notice and request forms, computer terminal screen displays, and any other items which contain Income Match reports. Restrict access to all income match reports. (Section 111-3 #4 explains the rules on who has access to Income Match information.) Failure to follow these rules can result in a fine of $5,000 and a five year jail term for each offense.
After you verify a match, include proof of the income or asset in the case record. This information is fact and can be treated as any other case fact. Follow normal rules to safeguard the case record. (For the rules about sharing case facts see Sections 111, 111-2, and 111-3)
Proof of Income Match reports does not change the status of the Income Match printout or report. You MUST safeguard the report material even after the information has been checked.
Unauthorized inspection or disclosure of IRS Federal tax information, including breeches and security incidents, must be reported to an immediate supervisor and/or the DWS Internal Audit Division.
